Cultural Competency Training

All Personal Care Assistants are required by law to complete a state-approved Cultural Competency Training course within 90 days of employment and every two years thereafter.

Complete within 90 days, then renew every 2 years

FlexEd Instructions

How to complete your training

Follow these steps to take the approved course online through FlexEd.

  1. Create a profile and register
    Visit FlexEd using the button below and complete your account registration.
  2. Select “Other”
    Choose Other for “Hospital/Facility Affiliation.”
  3. Enter AC Personal Care
    Type AC Personal Care for “Hospital Affiliation.”
  4. Select the correct course
    Under “Self Study Modules,” choose Cultural Competency and Health Care Self Study Module.
  5. Complete the course and test
    Pass the test, pay the course fee, and download your certificate.

$20 course feeThe fee is due after you pass the test. You will have three attempts before you need to start the course over.
Please do not send photos of your certificate.Your certificate must be added to your personnel file, so certificate photos are not accepted. Please send the actual certificate document using one of the methods shown.
